PREPARING FOR THE NEW YEAR - 2021
December, 2020
Relax.
After the rough year we’ve had in 2020, it’s vital that you take a step back to revitalize yourself. Enjoy the festive period, go out with friends, and enjoy yourself! We can’t just relax once or twice a year and expect it to work miracles, it takes practice. Besides vacations, there are tools like meditation and prayer. The idea is to begin incorporating relaxation skills and activities that promote calm and well-being into your daily life.
Surviving a pandemic.
As we all know, it’s taken mental and emotional strength to get through this year. Most of us have suffered financially and are still recouping our losses. It’s worth noting that this crisis isn’t only challenging to your business, but also to your suppliers, customers, competitors, even friends and family. It can be helpful to establish new channels of communication. Strengthen existing bonds and search for new and creative ways to cooperate. Share more information and build an open, direct and reliable relationship with others. Most importantly don’t forget to plan ahead.
Plan for the future.
Start by forming new strategies on how to succeed in the “New Normal”. It can be restructuring your life or your business. Be creative and find ways to be more helpful to your customers and suppliers given the circumstances. As we know this is a very challenging time for small to medium businesses, don’t be afraid to lend a helping hand. Building stronger relationships with those around you will only help you in the long run. Include the unpredictability that is now permanently part of everyday life, as part of your plan and encourage adaptability for yourself and your company. Really listen to those around you and set new achievable goals!
Motivation upkeep.
For many, the new year brings the excitement of new beginnings and challenges, while others feel the post-holiday fatigue and experience a slump. It’s important to stay motivated during these lows throughout the new year. Start by making a commitment to yourself and your goals to do better, even if it’s baby steps. Then clarify your objectives and how to achieve them, but definitely only set achievable goals until you’re ready for that next step as it will require more hard work. You want to always maintain a healthy work and life balance because it’s easy to lose yourself in either of those things and forget about the other. A negative mindset can really drain your energy and slow you down, think positive and think of everything you have right now! BE GRATEFUL.
